BUSINESS RESOURCES
In the last several decades, Greektown has seen an increase in its population, embracing an influx of young families and newcomers from Latino and other non-Greek backgrounds, all while retaining a shared sense of safety and mutual community support. While Greek restuarants from the 1960s and 70s remain cornerstones, new businesses have infused the neighborhood with new flavors.
With its proximity to major highways and Baltimore’s downtown business district, Greektown is just the place for your business. To keep things running smoothly for you, we've put together some helpful resources.

Trash & Recycling
Trash (TUESDAYS)
Garbage is picked up on Tuesdays in all of Greektown. Unless you've opted out of the city trash can program, trash should be placed in the city-issued green trash receptacles. Depending on where you live, trash may be collected in front of your home or from the alley. It is against City Ordinance not to keep your garbage in a properly sealed trash can container.
Trash cans should be put out before 7:00 am the day of the collection. Please don't put out your trash before the morning of your designated pickup day. It encourages rat and rodent infestation.
If you can't wait until your designated pickup day, take your trash to an authorized disposal location. See below under e-cycling for locations and hours of sanitation yards and the landfill. The Western, Eastern, and Northwestern Sanitation Yards are now open on Saturdays.
Recycling (THURSDAYS)
Recycling in Baltimore City has been single-stream since 2008. All recyclable materials—bottles, cans, plastics (#s 1–7), mixed paper and cardboard—should be set out in a single container. Use the City's yellow recycling containers or any other container clearly marked "recycling." Place recycling containers in the same location as your trash before 7:00 am on Thursdays for collection. Plastic bags of any color will not be accepted.
If Tuesday or Thursday is a city holiday, collection will be the following Saturday.
e-CYCLING
Baltimore DPW offers free year-round recycling of consumer electronics such as DVD players, VCRs, computers and monitors, radios, and speakers. Electronics can be dropped off at any of the following locations and times:
Quarantine Road Sanitary Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Rd. | Mon–Sat 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Rd. | Mon–Fri 7:00 am–3:00 pm
Western Sanitation Yard, 701 Reedbird Ave. | Mon–Sat 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Eastern Sanitation Yard, 6101 Bowleys Ln. | Mon–Sat 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Northwest Sanitation Yard, 2840 Sisson St. | Mon–Sat 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Employee Parking & Commuters
Parking is free and first-come, first-served on the street. Some lucky folks have garages and alley parking pads, so please don't block those. Otherwise, park anywhere you like that's legal.
MTA Bus Schedule
Want to leave your car at home? The city's bus network can get you there, connecting you to other neighborhoods and transportation services such as Light Rail stops, Penn Station, and the Water Taxi.
Charm City Circulator
This free bus option operates on several highly-trafficked routes throughout the city. View a full map with live locations of buses.
Harbor Connector & Water Taxis
Baltimore City offers a free-to-ride maritime transit system, operating Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 8 PM. The nearest stop is located at Canton Waterfront Park. Coming April 2024: on-demand Water Taxi service.
EZ Pass
Make your commute up and down the I-95 corridor easier with a Maryland EZ Pass.
